- 1 Enter Caesar, Agrippa, and Maecenas, with his army.
- 2 Caesar reading a letter.
- 3 CAESAR.
- 4 He calls me boy, and chides as he had power
- 5 To beat me out of Egypt. My messenger
- 6 He hath whipped with rods; dares me to personal combat,
- 7 Caesar to Antony. Let the old ruffian know
- 8 I have many other ways to die; meantime
- 9 Laugh at his challenge.
- 10 MAECENAS.
- 11 Caesar must think,
- 12 When one so great begins to rage, he’s hunted
- 13 Even to falling. Give him no breath, but now
- 14 Make boot of his distraction. Never anger
- 15 Made good guard for itself.
- 16 CAESAR.
- 17 Let our best heads
- 18 Know that tomorrow the last of many battles
- 19 We mean to fight. Within our files there are,
- 20 Of those that served Mark Antony but late,
- 21 Enough to fetch him in. See it done,
- 22 And feast the army; we have store to do’t,
- 23 And they have earned the waste. Poor Antony!
- 24 [_Exeunt._]
