- 1 Enter Charles, Burgundy, Alençon, Bastard, Reignier, La Pucelle and
- 2 forces.
- 3 CHARLES.
- 4 These news, my lords, may cheer our drooping spirits:
- 5 ’Tis said the stout Parisians do revolt
- 6 And turn again unto the warlike French.
- 7 ALENÇON.
- 8 Then march to Paris, royal Charles of France,
- 9 And keep not back your powers in dalliance.
- 10 PUCELLE.
- 11 Peace be amongst them, if they turn to us;
- 12 Else ruin combat with their palaces!
- 13 Enter Scout.
- 14 SCOUT.
- 15 Success unto our valiant general,
- 16 And happiness to his accomplices!
- 17 CHARLES.
- 18 What tidings send our scouts? I prithee, speak.
- 19 SCOUT.
- 20 The English army, that divided was
- 21 Into two parties, is now conjoin’d in one,
- 22 And means to give you battle presently.
- 23 CHARLES.
- 24 Somewhat too sudden, sirs, the warning is;
- 25 But we will presently provide for them.
- 26 BURGUNDY.
- 27 I trust the ghost of Talbot is not there.
- 28 Now he is gone, my lord, you need not fear.
- 29 PUCELLE.
- 30 Of all base passions, fear is most accursed.
- 31 Command the conquest, Charles, it shall be thine;
- 32 Let Henry fret and all the world repine.
- 33 CHARLES.
- 34 Then on, my lords; and France be fortunate!
- 35 [_Exeunt._]
